We spend so much of our time curating our online personalities. We constantly photograph ourselves with five-second filter selfies. Inspired by Philip DiCorcia’s series Heads, this project aims instead to create honest, candid portraits. In contrast to traditional studio portraiture, I sought to create photographs of people in a vulnerable, unaware, and honest state.  The series Unmasked seeks to capture portraiture photographs that make one reflect on candid photography and raise questions on ethical appropriateness.
